Mixed lentil curry

Ingredients
- 3 tbsp toor dal
- 3 tbsp chana dal
- 3 tbsp moong dal
- 3 tbsp masoor red dal
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 tomato, chopped fine
- 1-2 green chili, sliced
- 1 tsp cumin/coriander powder
- 2 tsp red chili
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tbs oil
- 3 tbps fried onion
- ½ tsp lemon juice
- ½ Knorr chicken cube
- 3 tsp Shaan Dal Masala
- 1 Knorr chicken cube
- 2-3 cup water
- Chopped cilantro
- Salt to taste
RECIPE
- In a pot, heat oil and sauté ginger-garlic paste.
- Add chopped tomatoes and continue stirring.
- Then add fried onions, cumin-coriander powder, turmeric powder, Knorr chicken cube, and red chili powder. Stir well to combine.
- After a minute, add the dals along with half a finger’s depth of water.
- Cook in an Instant Pot (14 minutes) or pressure cooker until the dals are soft and tender.
- Mash the dals using a hand beater or spatula.
- Add Shaan dal masala, lemon juice, and green chili. Adjust salt to taste. Continue cooking for another 30 minutes.
- Garnish with cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan.
NOTES
Optional:
- Optional step for tadka: In a separate pan, sauté sliced garlic, 1 tsp red chili powder, and fried onion. Pour the sizzling mixture (tadka) into the dal before serving.
