Turmeric milk with honey and figs

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp ajwain seeds
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 2-4 dried figs

RECIPE

  1. In a saucepan, dry roast ajwain seeds
  2. Add a cup of milk and turmeric.
  3. Add honey and bring to a boil.
  4. Add in the dried figs.
  5. Lower the heat and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and serve hot.

NOTES

Optional:

  1. For extra-tender figs, place them in a cup of milk for 10-15 minutes before adding them to the pan. 
  2. Add black pepper to activate the turmeric. Combining these ingredients enhances health benefits because piperine in pepper increases curcumin absorption.
