Ingredients
- 7 oz. Gits Dahi Vada mix
- 32 oz plain yogurt
- 6 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- Optional: ½ cumin powder
- 8½ oz warm water
Garnish - Cilantro, finely chopped
- 1 tsp tamarind chutney
- 1 tsp Shan Chaat Masala or Dahi Bada Chaat Masala
- ½ tsp cumin powder
- ½ tsp red chilli powder
RECIPE
- Empty the contents of the Gits Dahi Vada mix into a mixing bowl, then add 8½ oz of warm water. Mix well and set aside for 10 minutes. Then mix well.
- Heat oil in a frying pan, then scoop the mixture into a tablespoonful at a time and fry the vadas. Place on a paper napkin and allow to cool.
- Next, place them in a bowl of water for 10-15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, mix the yogurt with sugar and salt.
- Remove the vadas from the water, squeeze gently to remove excess water, and lay them on a plate.
- In a wide bowl, pour 2 tbps of yogurt. Then roll every vada into the yogurt mix and place them into the bowl. Lay them in a single layer and don’t stack. Pour the remaining mixture onto the vadas.
- Next, garnish with tamarind chutney, chat masala, cumin powder, red chili powder, and cilantro. Cool in the fridge and serve.
