Ingredients

  • 7 oz. Gits Dahi Vada mix
  • 32 oz plain yogurt
  • 6 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Optional: ½ cumin powder
  • 8½ oz warm water

    Garnish
  • Cilantro, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp tamarind chutney
  • 1 tsp Shan Chaat Masala or Dahi Bada Chaat Masala
  • ½ tsp cumin powder
  • ½ tsp red chilli powder

RECIPE

  1. Empty the contents of the Gits Dahi Vada mix into a mixing bowl, then add 8½ oz of warm water. Mix well and set aside for 10 minutes. Then mix well.
  2. Heat oil in a frying pan, then scoop the mixture into a tablespoonful at a time and fry the vadas. Place on a paper napkin and allow to cool.
  3. Next, place them in a bowl of water for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, mix the yogurt with sugar and salt.
  5. Remove the vadas from the water, squeeze gently to remove excess water, and lay them on a plate.
  6. In a wide bowl, pour 2 tbps of yogurt. Then roll every vada into the yogurt mix and place them into the bowl. Lay them in a single layer and don’t stack. Pour the remaining mixture onto the vadas.
  7. Next, garnish with tamarind chutney, chat masala, cumin powder, red chili powder, and cilantro. Cool in the fridge and serve.
